Meet the Team

At Curlew Country we have a small but dynamic team of dedicated contractors and volunteers. Every member of our team is committed to the conservation of Eurasian curlew in the Shropshire Hills and Welsh Border. 

Core Staff

Amanda Perkins – Lead

Amanda heads up Curlew Country, responsible for design, liaison, strategy, obtaining funding and ensuring everything runs smoothly. 

She represents Curlew Country on the national Curlew Recovery Partnership Steering Group and Gylfinir Cymru.

Caleb Stradling – Project Officer

Caleb brings ornithological experience and knowledge of curlews with him and will continue to put this to good use.

Tony Cross – Consultant Ornithologist

Tony is our Consultant Ornithologist, responsible for conducting our field work, collecting eggs, monitoring curlew pairs and ringing as much as possible.

Volunteers

Curlew Country welcomes and is extremely grateful to its amazing team of volunteers. This group helps us with a range of work especially during the curlew breeding season.
